Tour Information
George S. Mickelson Trail
The 109 mile-long trail was originally the Burlington Northern Line. The railway stretches 109 miles, starting at Edgemont then winding through the Black Hills and ending in Deadwood. The railway was converted to a trail made of limestone and gravel. It’s gentle slopes allow the trail to be used by people of all ages and abilities. Throughout the Mickelson Trail there are 15 trail heads which offer parking, vault toilets, and tables. Along the trail you will pass over converted railroad bridges, make your way through rock tunnels, observe historic sites, abandoned mines and old cabins. Since the trail is extensive, you will be able to experience the many ecosystems that Black Hills offer, passing through the prairie, the National forest, and the meadows located in the higher hills. Have your camera ready in case you spot the wildlife roaming in these areas. The trail is not only open to bicyclists, but also hikers and horseback riders.

About Us
We have a very active, blended, family, consisting of five children that have a large age gap between the oldest and the youngest. With that being said, we are sure you can imagine the daily adventures we have. We moved to Custer, SD a couple years ago and settled into our little spot in the woods. We did this to let our children have a sense of the wild the world holds. We spend a good portion of our time outside, soaking in all that the Black Hills has to offer us. We came acoss the Mickelson Trail and our younger kids begged us to ride bikes down the trail. The first trip almost killed us. It was very evident we were out of shape to ride a regular bicycle and keep up with our kids. We started looking into electric bikes for ourselves that gave us the option of having that little extra help when we needed it, or just being able to ride it without assistance if possible. Then our parents were also interested so they could ride with the grandkids. And from there, the idea was born. The idea of being able to provide awesome experiences to all those who wanted to get out and be able to ride with ease and see all the beauty the Black Hills holds, whether it be tourists or locals. We offer electric bike rentals for those looking for a new experience, or those who have some experience under their belt. The rest of the story of how this family business started is pretty much just logistics. We hope you enjoy your ride through life as much as we have.
