Located on the site that was originally the first Wyoming stop of the Deadwood, South Dakota to Miles City, Montana stagecoach - If these roads could talk, they’d sure have some stories to tell!

Experience peaceful sunrises and relaxing sunsets. Bring your horse as well as your friends and family.

With 1,500 acres of state land adjoining our property and access to another 3,000 acres nearby, you’ll have hours of fun exploring the Black Hills of Wyoming via hiking or horseback. Traverse the rimrock, wind through the tall pines and trail across the expansive grass prairie – the adventures are endless.

Choose to hang your hat in one of our two on-site vacation homes, the Bunkhouse or the Ranch House. Rustle up a hardy breakfast in the full kitchen, then head out for the day. Grill your own piece of Wyoming beef while taking in the scent of the pine trees and viewing beautiful sunsets. Both are great options for family or friends looking to reconnect for a reunion or getaway.  Our guests comment about how wonderfully quiet the area is, with the crickets singing you to sleep each night. 

Or book a simpler dry cabin with a grill, microwave, small fridge, bedding, towels, heat and climate control. You’ll find the spic and span shower house nearby – nothing better than a hot shower after a good day horseback or hiking the Hills. Hilltop cabins have some of our most beautiful views and are set in the pines for a premium nature experience.

Have your own home on wheels? Pull your rig into one of our accessible pull-through RV sites and park it on a cement pad. 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer available at each site, with a convenient bathroom nearby. The shower house is available for all guests, so if your RV water pressure isn’t cutting it, use our on-demand hot water.

If you bring your horse, we have excellent covered stalls, open pens, a saddling area, and even a tack room to use if you like. If your mount is a little fresh, we have an arena or round pen to work out the kinks.   Hay is available for purchase. All are near the RV sites for ease and convenience. Best of all – there are thousands of acres to explore on horseback.

If you are staying a spell, our shower house also offers a coin-operated laundry and a gift/convenience store named The Trading Post. This is where you can find maps of the property, trail maps for the Black Hills and local area, JCSS merchandise, snacks, soda, and those easy-to-forget items. Complimentary Black Hills bagels in a variety of flavors and Keurig coffee are also available for guests. Kick back under our covered patio, where you can picnic and hang out. While you may feel removed from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we have excellent Wi-Fi service throughout the property – so you won’t be too out of touch (unless you choose to be!)

Want to do some sightseeing? Nearby adventures include Devils Tower National Monument and Vore Buffalo Jump. Historical museums, shops, grocery stores, dining, and more fun can be found in the truly “cowboy” towns of Aladdin, Hulett and Sundance, Wyoming, as well as Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Plan your trip around July 4th and take in the excitement of the Black Hills Roundup and Rodeo – complete with the best fireworks display this side of the Missouri River! Other event dates to remember include the Buffalo Roundup at Custer State Park in late September, the Winter Festival in Sundance with thrilling skijoring in February and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in early August – Yes, we welcome riders of all types! 

History comes alive in the Old West town of Deadwood - just 37 miles away. In warm months you can ride a stagecoach, catch a rodeo, watch shootouts on Main Street and see the Trial of Jack McCall, the man that shot Wild Bill Hickok. Any time of the year there are exciting events, casinos for gaming fun and history museums to wander through. It’s a fun place to visit – but it's even better to stay somewhere away from the crowds and noise – like here!

Travel a bit farther south to Keystone and visit the Shrine of Democracy, Mount Rushmore. Just down the road from there is Crazy Horse Memorial® – a mountain of a tribute to the Native Americans who have called the Black Hills home for generations. From there, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to Custer State Park, where the buffalo roam free. And don’t miss Hill City, the “Heart of the Hills” on the way. All can be visited in an easy day trip from here.

Return to the hospitality here when you’re done with the day’s explorations. Relax by the campfire in our gazebo and roast marshmallows or enjoy your favorite beverage. Then settle down for a great night’s sleep.
