Soon into beginning this trail you will ascend into the ponderosa pine forest to a ridge line; from here you will have amazing views of Stockade Lake, Harney Peak and the surrounding areas. Towards the end, the trail will cross over Stockade Lake Drive and follow along a gravel road that will lead you back to the trailhead.
